Sure it might not be the most famous tower, you know it’s hard to compete with Paris’ Eiffel Tower or Pisa’s Leaning Tower but if you are in Seoul you simply have to see N Seoul Tower! If you are actually physically in Seoul then you’ve probably already seen it, it’s kinda hard to miss, but you really should take yourself to the Tower and see it up close and in person.
N Seoul Tower sits atop Namsan Mountain and offers a 360 degree view of the city.
There are paths you can take to walk up Namsan Mountain or there is a very handy cable car that can take you there as well. To get to the cable car, take Subway Line 4 to Myeongdong Station (Exit 3). Go south on Toegye-ro 18-gil street. When you reach the Pacific Hotel, turn left onto Toegye-ro 20-gil street. When you see the Ministop, turn right onto Toegye-ro 20-na-gil street. At the end of the street is the lower cable car station.
I visited during the day on a Saturday and was surprised and excited to catch a cultural show with traditional dancing/drumming as well as a martial arts demonstration.
Okay can I just say how cute is this kid?! He had a smile on his face the whole time and just seemed really happy to be there. 🙂
Step back son, this is going to get dangerous! 😉
N Seoul Tower, built in 1971, was Korea’s first general radio wave tower, providing TV and radio broadcasting in Seoul. It was opened to the public in 1980. At some point after that fences were added where couples could fasten “locks of love” which is a hugely popular trend around the world.
As you can see, some of these locks have been here for awhile!
N Seoul Tower is just a great place to spend a couple of hours, taking pics, or hanging out.
But first, let me take a selfie! There are several options for dining, from churros and burgers on the ground floor to fine dining restaurants at the top. There is also a fun little gift shop to buy souvenirs. For more information about N Seoul Tower click here. Have fun!!
